Plagiarism Citation

Plagiarism Citation allows you to generate properly formatted citations directly from plagiarism scan results. This feature makes it easier to reference matched sources in academic, educational, and research workflows without manually creating citations. With Citation Export, you can quickly convert detected sources into common academic citation formats and export them for use in papers, reports, and research projects.

How It Works

When a plagiarism scan identifies matching sources, you can generate citations from supported sources and export them in your preferred citation style.

The feature is designed to simplify source attribution and save time when working with referenced materials.

Supported Citation Styles

You can generate citations in the following formats:

  • APA (American Psychological Association)
  • MLA (Modern Language Association)
  • Chicago (Chicago Manual of Style)
  • IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)

Citation Export currently supports:

  • Web pages
  • Academic sources
  • Journal publications

Export Formats

Generated citations can be exported as:

  • PDF
  • DOCX

Availability

Citation Export is currently available through the Originality.ai web application.

Important Notes

Citations Are Not Automatically Excluded From Plagiarism Detection

Adding exported citations to your content does not automatically prevent those sources from being identified during future plagiarism scans.

If you want specific sources to be ignored during scanning, use the Exclude URLs feature to exclude known sources.

Citation Export Does Not Affect Scan Results

Citation Export is a reporting tool only. It does not modify:

  • Plagiarism scores
  • Similarity percentages
  • Matching logic
  • Detection results
