# Which Originality.ai AI Detector Is Most Similar to Turnitin?

Based on an Originality.ai study of **300 student essays**, the **40% AI Allowance setting** produced results most similar to Turnitin among the Originality.ai settings tested.
At this setting, Originality.ai and Turnitin agreed on the Human-versus-AI classification of **69.7% of documents**. When Originality.ai classified a document as Original, Turnitin also placed it below the study’s comparison boundary in **96.3% of cases**.
